Below is a list of New York metal detecting clubs.

If you are new to the hobby these organizations can help you in many ways.

And if you’ve been in the hobby for a while, the clubs can offer advise that you may not be aware of. Any knowledge received can be a bonus that helps you become better at searching for items.

New York Metal Detecting Clubs

Empire State Metal Detector Association

The Empire State Metal Detector Association is a club of avid metal detectorists with a membership of about 150. We are located in the Capital District region of upstate New York.

Meetings are at the Latham Firehouse

266 Old Louden Rd

Meetings are every last Monday of the month, except December which has no meetings.

The entrance is the lower level, north side of building.

Please do NOT park by front door. Firefighters only.

Genesee Valley Treasure Seekers

GVTS History:

The Genesee Valley Treasure Seekers Metal Detecting club began in 1990 with six members interested in the hobby. Initial meetings were held at the VFW in Charlotte, New York and two years later moved to the First Baptist Church of Chili in the suburb of Rochester, New York. The club since has grown to over sixty members across western New York and is comprised of working / retired singles, couples, and children memberships.

Monthly meetings are held at 10:00AM the 1st Saturday of each month. Visitors are welcome!

Niagara Frontier Relic Hunters Association, Inc.

N.F.R.H.A., Inc. is a not-for-profit metal detecting club located in the Town of Tonawanda (just outside of Buffalo, NY). Organized in 1977, the club currently has 55 members and 5 Junior members.

Our mission is to promote the hobby of metal detecting, encourage friendship, and preserve the past.

The NFRHA has its general membership meetings at the Zion United Church of Christ,  in the Town of Tonawanda, NY on the 3rd. Sunday of the month @ 7:00 PM with the exception of December when we have a Christmas party for the membership only @ 3:00 PM

Putnam/Westchester Metal Detectorists & Archaeological Society

We are a not-for-profit organization, routinely holding club meetings, seminars, and hunts for relics, treasure, coins, gold, silver, and lost articles!

 No meetings are held in July, August, December
