Indiana ghost towns exist as either abandoned buildings, or simply a hole in the ground. The hole is the cellar that a house once rested on. There may be one or more of these cellar holes in the area. In what was once and old town. Searching for the old settlements is both fun and rewarding.
Learning American history by searching for these areas is a great way for you and your family to explore the outdoors. If you’re lucky, you may find old relics that were left behind, lying on the ground.
And, if you enjoy metal detecting, or perhaps you’re interested in joining the exciting hobby, then searching for these lost old towns will give you the opportunity to find some exciting relics from the past. This page explains where some of the Indiana ghost towns exist.

The ghost towns listed on this page are just a few of the hundreds of ghost towns in this State. You can discover many on your own as you drive, or hike, by paying attention to the signs that an old town is close by. Those signs, and how to look for them are described in detail in my digital eBook:
"Gone But Not Forgotten, Ghost Towns of the Eastern States."
In this book, you’ll learn how to locate the eastern ghost towns by recognizing certain signs. In this book you will also read about a real ghost town, mini cache, found by my metal detecting and good friend John.
This is an eBook. Available only in digital form as an instant download.
